Brooklyn Bridge (left)
The Brooklyn Bridge has connected the boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn since 1883 and is one of the oldest suspension bridges in the United States. Designed by John A. Roebling, the structure spans the East River for approximately 1.8 kilometers and was considered a technical marvel upon its completion. With its characteristic stone towers and elevated pedestrian walkway, the bridge is now one of New York's most famous landmarks.
St. Patrick's Cathedral (right)
St. Patrick's Cathedral is the largest neo-Gothic Catholic cathedral in North America and is located on Fifth Avenue opposite Rockefeller Center. The imposing sacred building was constructed between 1858 and 1879 and still serves as the seat of the Archbishop of New York. With its nearly 100-meter-high towers, intricate stained-glass windows, and white marble facade, the cathedral forms an impressive contrast to Manhattan's surrounding skyscrapers.
