ART-DOMINO® is a family business run by Sabine Welz and her daughter Lisa Schwiesselmann. The Pop Art concept, launched in 2009 by Berlin-based artist Sabine Welz, focuses on people's living spaces: metropolises, cities, villages, and landscapes. Whether small or large, these spaces reveal themselves in the architecture and buildings, just as their inhabitants, society, materials, trends, and lifestyles have changed over time. In streets, neighborhoods, and through landmarks, urbanity and history meet and shape our attitude to life. Sabine Welz explores this tension in striking, preferably colorful images: stylized landmarks become high-contrast collages; photorealistic depictions are enhanced by overlaying motifs, shadows, and exciting color schemes.
Artist Sabine Welz
Born and raised in Berlin, Sabine Welz has been dedicated to art full-time since 2009. While previously her focus was on painting, Sabine Welz developed something entirely new: her own art concept in the Pop Art style.
Inspiration
Every city included in the ART-DOMINO® concept was personally visited by the artist Sabine Welz herself. The portfolio now includes more than 140 cities worldwide. The basis for her motifs, city and country portraits, are always photographs she took herself. Sabine Welz lives and loves to be on the move – travel is her greatest inspiration for her artwork and design projects. Through travel, we overcome distances, both temporal and spatial, and gain new experiences. We discover other countries and cultures, learn about customs and special characteristics, and find similarities and differences. What remains after each trip is an emotional connection and a keepsake.
