One World Trade Center (left)
The One World Trade Center was built as the centerpiece of the newly constructed World Trade Center complex and opened in 2014. At 541 meters, it is the tallest building in the United States and the Western Hemisphere. Its height of 1,776 feet deliberately commemorates the year of the American Declaration of Independence. As a symbol of reconstruction after the September 11, 2001 attacks, the distinctive skyscraper now defines the skyline of Lower Manhattan.
Pier 16 (right)
Pier 16 is located in the historic South Street Seaport in Lower Manhattan and offers an impressive view of the East River and the Brooklyn Bridge. Several historic ships from the South Street Seaport Museum are anchored along the pier, including the over 130-year-old "Wavertree". With its maritime atmosphere, restored brick buildings, and numerous events, Pier 16 is one of New York's most charming waterfront areas.
