Times Square (left)
Times Square is one of the most famous squares in the world and forms the pulsating heart of New York City's theater and entertainment district. Named after the New York Times newspaper building, the square spans between 42nd and 47th Streets in Midtown Manhattan. Times Square is particularly famous for its huge neon signs, theaters, shops, and the annual New Year's Eve celebration with the world-renowned Ball Drop.
Grand Central Station (right)
Grand Central Terminal opened in 1913 and is one of the most important train stations in the world. The magnificent Beaux-Arts-style terminal has a total of 67 tracks and is considered the station with the most platforms worldwide. Particularly well-known are the impressive main concourse with its astronomical ceiling design and the monumental station clock above the information booth.
