Christopher Street Subway Station (left)
The Christopher Street–Stonewall Station is located in the Greenwich Village neighborhood and is one of New York City's most historically significant subway stations. The station opened in 1918 and received its current name in 2024 in memory of the nearby Stonewall National Monument. It thus commemorates the Stonewall Riots, which are considered an important milestone in the international LGBTQ+ civil rights movement.
