Statue of Liberty (left)
The Statue of Liberty is one of the most famous landmarks in the United States and a worldwide symbol of freedom and democracy. The monumental statue was designed by French sculptor Frédéric-Auguste Bartholdi and dedicated on October 28, 1886, on Liberty Island in New York Harbor. With a total height of almost 93 meters, "Lady Liberty" has welcomed visitors and immigrants arriving in New York by sea for over a century.
Manhattan Bridge (right)
Since its opening in 1909, the Manhattan Bridge has connected the boroughs of Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn across the East River. The approximately 2-kilometer-long suspension bridge was built according to the plans of engineer Leon S. Moisseiff and is one of New York's significant bridge constructions. With its distinctive blue steel structures, Neo-Gothic portals, and impressive views of the Manhattan skyline, it is now one of the city's most popular photo motifs.
