Brooklyn Bridge (right)
The Brooklyn Bridge has connected the boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn since 1883 and is one of the oldest suspension bridges in the United States. Designed by John A. Roebling, the structure spans the East River for approximately 1.8 kilometers and was considered a technical masterpiece upon its completion. With its characteristic stone towers and elevated pedestrian walkway, the bridge is now one of New York's most famous landmarks.
