Brooklyn Bridge (left)
The Brooklyn Bridge has connected the boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn since 1883 and is one of the oldest suspension bridges in the United States. Designed by John A. Roebling, the structure spans the East River for approximately 1.8 kilometers and was considered a technical masterpiece upon its completion. With its characteristic stone towers and elevated pedestrian walkway, the bridge is now one of New York's most famous landmarks.
Grand Central Station (right)
Grand Central Terminal opened in 1913 and is one of the most important train stations in the world. The magnificent Beaux-Arts-style terminal has a total of 67 tracks and is considered the station with the most platforms worldwide. Particularly well-known are the impressive main concourse with its astronomical ceiling design and the monumental station clock above the information booth.
