St. Vitus Cathedral (left)
St. Vitus Cathedral, located within Prague Castle, is the most significant church in the Czech Republic and one of the city's most important landmarks. Construction of the Gothic cathedral began in 1344 under the later Emperor Charles IV. Over centuries, an impressive structure emerged, serving as the coronation church for Bohemian kings and housing the crown jewels and the tombs of numerous rulers to this day.
Astronomical Clock (right)
The Prague Astronomical Clock in the Old Town Hall was built in 1410 and is one of the oldest still-functioning astronomical clocks in the world. In addition to the time, it also displays astronomical data and delights visitors daily with its famous procession of figures. The elaborate clock is considered a masterpiece of medieval technology and is one of Prague's most famous attractions.
