Berlin Cathedral (left)
The Berlin Cathedral on Lustgarten on Museum Island was built between 1894 and 1905 according to the plans of architect Julius Raschdorff. With its imposing dome, four towers, and magnificent Neo-Renaissance architecture, it is one of Berlin's most famous landmarks. The Berlin Cathedral is Germany's largest Protestant church and serves not only for church services but also as a venue for concerts and state ceremonies. Particularly impressive are the Hohenzollern Crypt, the elaborate interior decorations, and the panoramic view of Berlin's city center from the cathedral dome.
Molecule Man (right)
The "Molecule Man" is a monumental sculpture by American artist Jonathan Borofsky and has stood in the Spree River between Oberbaum Bridge and Elsen Bridge since 1999. The artwork consists of three 30-meter-high figures made of perforated aluminum sheets that touch in the middle. The sculpture symbolizes the coming together of Berlin's districts of Friedrichshain, Kreuzberg, and Treptow, as well as the connection of East and West Berlin after reunification. Due to its extraordinary shape and its location in the middle of the water, the sculpture is now one of Berlin's most modern landmarks.
